Lubbock police are investigating a reported shooting after a person was found with serious injuries Monday evening in Central Lubbock.
The shooting was reported just before 10 p.m. in the 4900 block of 39th Street, according to police.
Upon arrival, responding officers located a victim with serious injuries.
The victim, whose name and age were not immediately released, was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center.
Initial reports indicated a suspect shot the victim, said LPD spokeswoman Kasie Whitley. However, through further investigation, detectives were able to determine that the injury was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Whitley said no arrests have been made at this time.
