PROSPER — The Prosper Christmas Festival, set this year to occur at Frontier Park, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Planners are finalizing the details of the popular annual event, and have issued a call to the community for sponsorships.
Businesses and organizations that are active in their community either through financial sponsorships or by encouraging employees to volunteer, often refer to the dual-benefit principle in describing their commitment to community-wide events.
The principle, valid for any sized business or organization, holds that benefits accrue to the entity that provides funding or volunteers in two ways. First, the sponsorship provides the business or organization an opportunity to create goodwill in the community, elevating awareness of the business as well as increasing positive feelings toward the enterprise.
Second, the principle suggests that businesses or organizations benefit financially from the sponsorship by increasing consumer traffic, either physically or online, and by growing the customer base through reputational enrichment.
Coincidentally, the dual-benefit principle is also felt by the community event in similar ways. First, the event can make use of financial sponsorship or volunteers to defray the costs associated with the event, and second, striking a relationship with members of the business community gives the event a higher level of prestige and legitimacy.
The Prosper Christmas Festival has always been free to attend, thanks to the generosity of sponsors throughout the years. Sponsorships remain available and planners are encouraging potential sponsors to respond quickly to be included in all marketing efforts. Sponsorship levels and a list of sponsorship benefits are detailed on the festival website, www.ProsperChristmasFestival.org. Forms for sponsorship are also available on the website.
“Our sincerest thanks go to all of the businesses and organizations that have already stepped forward as sponsors, especially our Title Sponsor, Texas Health Neighborhood Care and Wellness, Prosper,” said Julie Shivers, Recreation Services Coordinator and Christmas Festival Committee Chair. “We are very grateful to them, as we are to all of our other sponsors.”
In addition to the Title Sponsor, businesses and organizations in the Gold category include: Brown & Griffin Real Estate Advisors, Brown & Griffin Construction, Cotton Gin Café, Primrose School of Prosper, Primrose School of Windsong, Prosper Family Dentistry and Prospers Finest A/C & Heat.
