In response to specific requests and in a continuing effort to provide the maximum level of service to patrons, the Sachse Public Library is initiating new hours of operation starting on Monday, Oct. 2.

“We’ve heard from patrons that they’d rather see the library shift slightly toward morning hours,” said Library Manager Mignon Morse. “Since our mission is to fully serve our patrons and customers, we’ve taken steps to do exactly

that.”

Effective on Monday, Oct. 2, the library will open its doors before noon every day it’s open. The library is closed on Sundays.

Currently, the library opens at noon every day, except Wednesdays and Saturdays when it opens at 10 a.m. However, the new schedule will feature doors opening at 10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. These eight-hour days end with the doors closing at 6 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the new schedule calls for nine-hour days starting at 11 a.m. and ending with an 8 p.m. closure. Saturday’s hours remain unchanged, opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 4 p.m.

“These changes to our schedule make perfect sense, since we see very few patrons in the late evening, and many users have expressed a strong desire to be able to come to the library before noon,” added Morse.

The Sachse Public Library is located within the Sachse Municipal complex, 3815 Sachse Road. In addition to traditional paper-bound books, the library has an extensive collection of electronic and audio books and reference material for users.
