At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, officers responded to a disturbance reported at 300 N. Main in Prosper. Prosper police found the victim a short distance from the residence where he had walked after being stabbed. Prosper Fire Department transported the victim to Plano Presbyterian Hospital where they were treated and released the following day.

The victim and the suspect were related and members of the same household. No injuries were sustained by the suspect. The suspect, Jesse Flores Martinez Jr. 48 years of age, was arrested at the scene and taken to Collin County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility. Martinez was booked in for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

No charges are being pursued against the victim, only the suspect. The investigation is still ongoing and the cause of the disturbance is still undetermined. Due to the open nature of the investigation, the weapon description has not been released at this time.
