A victim reported more than $23,000 in possessions stolen from their home in Prosper sometime between Feb. 9 and Feb. 11. The home in the Whitley Place subdivision has been up for sale since Dec. 9.


The burglary of habitation in the 300 block of Fraiser Lane was reported to police on Feb. 11 at 1:05pm. At this time, the suspect is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Electronics, jewelry, and clothing were among the many items reported stolen. Officer Brandon Jones responded to the report.


Prosper Police declined to provide additional details citing the on-going nature of the investigation and the listing agent for the property also declined to comment.


Prosper has consistently been termed one of the safest communities in North Texas. As previously reported, property crime in Prosper dropped 6 percentage points in 2014 compared to 2013. Thefts, the act of stealing an object or objects, dropped 3 percent and burglaries, defined as the illegal entry of a building to commit a theft, dropped 13 percent.
