Three Prosper High School students were among 1.6 million juniors that attended the National Merit Scholarship Program. Alexis Vu, Erin Heidrick Svaksha Iyengar are juniors at Prosper High School and attended the National Merit Scholarship Program. Only 16,000 of these juniors were listed as semifinalists and will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for scholarships that will be offered next spring.
“Alexis Vu is incredibly talented,” Jessica Sullivan, a PHS counselor said. “She excels in everything that she does. She is incredibly focused. Additionally, her kind, gentle spirit has earned her the respect of her peers.”
PHS counselor Michelle Roach said of Erin Heidrick, “(She) is a kind and caring young lady with a passion for helping others. Her career goal is to become a chemical engineer where she can help others through research. In addition to her rigorous AP courses, Erin is the secretary of the Interact Club, small group leader at her church, high school Bible study leader and was the Vice President of Programs for the National Charity League.”
Roach also said of Svaksha Iyengar,
“(She) is an outstanding student with incredible leadership skills. She participates in our Student Leadership program as well as challenging herself with academic rigor. One of her teachers stated that she “was one of the best tennis players she has ever coached.”
