Cedarbrook Media hosted its first Music in the Park event on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Frontier Park in Prosper. Vendors, food trucks and a live band from New Jersey were invited for Prosper families to enjoy the outdoors as summer approaches.

Vendors were able to set up booths that displayed a variety of products, such as jewelries, hair accessories, summer dresses and tops and scented candles. Ice cream trucks and other food trucks were also part of the community event Saturday. Most retailers said this was their first time representing their businesses in Prosper. With the rapid growth in Prosper’s population, many came out to support and acknowledge the developing community.

Amy Jukes, the event organizer, said she was thrilled about this community event.

“This is the very first time we are doing this in Prosper, and we are excited for everyone to come out and enjoy the live music,” she said.

Vegas Stars, a live band of four, from New Jersey and Las Vegas was a big part of the Saturday event. The band performed numbers from the ’70s, as well as current hits such as songs from Bruno Mars. An engaging part of their performances was the four’s attire as well as their interaction with the audience. Those in attendance could be seen tapping their feet, clapping their hands and singing along to the Vegas Stars.

Behind the scenes, the band manager said the band was enthusiastic with performing for Prosper for the first time, and that the audience here made them feel as if they were at home in New Jersey.

Although the Music in the Park was scheduled at 4 p.m., families did not start showing up until closer to 5 p.m. The band, however, delayed in starting their performance as the visitors were still making their way to the Frontier Park to allow all to fully enjoy the event.
