The goal of the Herald Democrat Newspapers in Education program, also known as NIE, is to place the most current textbook available, the newspaper, in the hands of local educators and teachers throughout Grayson, Collin and Fannin County as well as the Southern Oklahoma area at no cost to educators or school districts. Our hope is that the Herald Democrat, supported with classroom curriculum, will assist educators in encouraging students to become life long readers as well as producing conscious and knowledgeable students.
