An
early-morning fire ripped through an unoccupied home in Anna on Jan.
23, leaving destruction in its wake. The house fire involved units from
four cities and has prompted an investigation by two different
departments.
A 911 call was received at 3:57 a.m. and by 4:05 a.m.
the Anna Fire Department had a response unit on scene at 712 Wildwood
Trail. According to Anna Fire Chief Frank Roma, the first responders
observed flames shooting through the roof of the residence. Units from
Melissa and Westminister had already been dispatched to assist and city
back-up was requested from Van Alstyne Fire Department.
The fire
was effectively corralled and damage control was initiated, though the
damage to part of the structure already ablaze was substantial.
“They
were able to quickly control and contain the fire and keep it from
spreading to the uninvolved part of the house,” Chief Roma said. “But
the structure did sustain heavy damage.”
There were no injuries to
any emergency personnel on scene. However, the fire is under
investigation by both the Anna Fire Marshal’s office and the Collin
County Fire Marshal’s office, according to Roma.
The house is
listed by the Collin County Central Appraisal District as being owned by
Deutsche Bank Natl. Trust Co. and valued at $92,343.
