Corps of Engineers employee honored

In a recent ceremony at the U.S. Corps of Engineers Tulsa District headquarters, Mark Boling was named as the Park Ranger of the Year for the Tulsa District Corps of Engineers.

Boling was recognized for his diligent efforts for GIS (Geographic Information System) data collection and mapping for all of the 658 miles of shoreline for the Shoreline Management Plan at Lake Texoma, a Corps press release states. Boling also identified and elevated concern for public safety involving the permitting of submersible water pumps in our lakes. His efforts resulted in a change in the Safety and Health Requirements Manual.

Boling, who was a park ranger at Lake Texoma at the time of the nomination, is now working at Hugo Lake as an environmental specialist.
