A look at the latest progress and future projections of the region will be the focus of the Collin County Business Alliance (CCBA) State of Business Luncheon on Friday, June 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Capital One Conference Center, 8036 Dominion Parkway, Plano.

Last year’s elections brought a historic turnout of Collin County voters with a 47 percent increase in March primaries compared to 2016. The momentum of growth in the region continues with the aspirations of launching ride-share helicopters, a traffic light app, attracting more business and creating new jobs.

The CCBA event features a panel with mayors from Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Wylie who will reveal their vision of what’s ahead for the county. The discussion will also include how business leaders, elected officials, Collin County workers and residents may engage to create positive change.

Additionally, Mark McKinnon will keynote the event. McKinnon was the chief media advisor to five successful presidential primary and general election campaigns, a co-founder of No Labels, an organization dedicated to bipartisanship and political problem solving, and creator and co-host of the hit documentary series “The Circus” on Showtime.

McKinnon is a political advisor, reform advocate, media columnist and television producer. He is the creator, executive producer and co-host of Showtime’s documentary series, “The Circus.” He was the chief media advisor to five successful presidential primary and general election campaigns, and is co-founder of No Labels, an organization dedicated to bipartisanship, civil dialogue and political problem solving.

He serves on the boards of numerous organizations dedicated to reforming the influence of money in politics and is a member of the Television Academy. In 2014, McKinnon helped launch Mayday PAC to bring about ethics reform in the United States Congress.

Since its inception, CCBA has held regular policy forums to bring together hundreds of leaders from the business community, the government and academia to discuss innovative solutions to key challenges and to address gaps in the current policy environment in Collin County and beyond.

During the past seven years, Collin County has seen some of the strongest growth in the country. The luncheon will celebrate CCBA’s efforts to help ensure Collin County remains a successful community through its mission, “Envisioning tomorrow, inspiring action today.”

Formed in 2011, the CCBA is comprised of business leaders who believe that we have the responsibility to take action now to shape our vibrant community, or we put our future success at risk. By acting as a catalyst to address key issues such as water, education, and transportation today, CCBA will ensure that our already successful county has an even brighter future. Envisioning tomorrow, inspiring action today.
