PHS Theater Department to present 'Oklahoma' Round-Up
STAFF REPORTS
The Prosper High School theater department is preparing for an Oklahoma
Roundup. The event is for all cowboys and cowgirls ages 5 to 11 years
old. This is a time to have fun and sweets with the Cowboys and Cowgirls
from the PHS theatre production of “Oklahoma.” Come see our Cowboys
shooting it out in a gun fight over the prettiest girl in the south.
There will be singing and dancing from some of the best cowboys and
cowgirls that PHS has to offer for your entertainment. The audience will
get to practice your roping skills on our longhorn and scoot your boots
over to our horseshoe pit to practice tossing some shoes. Have your own
singing voice ready as you take a stroll and sing all your favorite
campfire songs but be careful, you never know what may await you at the
other end. Make sure you are dressed in your western finest as there
will be a photo op for all lil’ cowboys and cowgirls that will be sent
home that day. There will be so many fun activities that total five
different stations of Western experiences all for $10 a ticket. Tickets
will be sold at the same dates as tickets for the production. Now y’all
make sure and purchase your tickets early so that we can save a spot
just for you. We have only a limited number of tickets for each event.
The events are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m.; Saturday, Jan.
28 at 4 p.m.; and Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. Event starts at 4 p.m. and
tickets will not be sold after 5 p.m. Each event is over at 5:15 or
whenever you have had your fill of all our western fun. This event has
flexibility to begin whenever you arrive and last as long as your five
tickets take to spend. All the activity stations will shut down at 5:15
so that there is time to scoot your boots over to the production that
all are invited to join. Box office will open at 5:30 p.m., and doors to the
auditorium will open for seating at 6 p.m. We are fixin’ to have the
best time with your lil’ cowboys and cowgirls as they hoot and holler at
the Oklahoma Roundup. Email Cathy Miller at camiller22@aol.com with any
questions.
